Malvasia Damijan Podversic 2013

Damijan Podversic was one of the architects of the renovation of the wine world that has passed through the Collio area from the nineties onwards. Josko Gravner's favorite pupil, in the course of its wine history has evolved in a very surprising manner: at the beginning of his career he make only vinification in wood, then decided to adopt the practice of maceration of the grapes and make use of theories on the influence the moon and constellations in the terrestrial ecosystem to decide the harvest time and the various stages of the transformational work of the clusters. The main body of vineyards are located on the southern slope of Monte Calvario, in a beautiful natural amphitheater with steps open toward the south and surrounded by woods. In this picturesque and unspoilt environment Damijan began cultivating his vineyards, following the dictates of biodynamic agriculture; thanks to these precautions his Damijan has helped to preserve this environment and its ecosystem, practicing a natural viticulture that respects and regenerates the soil, plants and the environment. Even for Malvasia Damijan adopt a vinification in wooden barrels, without the addition of yeast. The result is a wine with mineral flavor, elegant and refined, unique, typical representation of the terroir of Gorizia.
