Roero Rosso 'Bric Valdiana' Giovanni Almondo 2013

A great Roero that year after year receives praise from many guides and experts and that is the work of Giovanni Almondo, a reality that we really like the way it operates. A family business that has now tried to spread the features and typical of his beautiful land, the Langhe. We are in the north-east of Cuneo, in the ideal triangle that forms between the Tanaro and the provinces of Asti and Turin. And here that we find the Bric Valdiana, a vineyard located at the top of a hill looking to the South, rich in sand and silt, formed 4.5 million years ago from a seabed. A soil that ensures a good supply of water in summer and high availability of nutrients; two factors that contribute to the emergence of very high quality grapes. The Nebbiolo, here, is the protagonist and undisputed: scrupulous cultivation and maximum respect for the environment. 12 months in oak barrels and 8 months in large barrels give a truly remarkable: the wood is perfectly fused with the fruit and spice, the entrance is sweet and the finish is fresh, well balanced and elegant tannins and a finish that knows surprise.
