Whisky Single Malt 'Amber' Macallan

The Whisky "Amber" Macallan is the spearhead of the homonymous distillery located on the west bank of the River Spey, near the town of Aberlour, in an old estate of 158 hectares of which 37 are dedicated to the cultivation of barley. Inside we find the Easter Elchies House, manor house built in 1700 that depicts the classic style of the residences of the Highland of that period that Macallan has resumed for the logo of the distillery. Founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a farmer in the area, under the name of Elchies Distillery. The turning point came in 1892 when the distillery, Roderick Kemp, a wine merchant and former Elgin-distiller of Talisker, the purchase, the widening and changes its name to Macallan-Glenlivet. Amber whiskey is part of the new range of the distillery, is a single malt matured in first fill and refill American oak and Spanish ex-sherry. The 1824 series, which comes from the year of birth of the distillery, is the new line of Macallan, the series consists of four different bottlings without declaration of age: Gold, Amber, Sienna and Ruby. The palate is very thick, fruity with notes of raisins, green apples and a hint of cinnamon. The finish is medium long and slightly dry, with notes of red fruits and cereals.
