Pratto Ca' dei Frati 2016

The Pratto, a gorgeous white wine, is created a couple of kilometers beyond the border between the cities of Verona and Brescia, in the heart of Lugana region, where is situated the winery Ca 'dei Frati. Active since 1939, when the family Del Cero chose to leave the Veneto to move on the shores of Lake of Garda, in the estate then owned by the Bishopric and note from 1782: "a house with one cellar, located in Lugana, in Sirmione, called the place of the friars". The Pratto is a wine made from a blend composed for the most part from grapes of Trebbiano di Lugana, together with parts of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, two international varieties, but, in this case, profoundly influenced by the particular microclimate of Sirmione assured by the shore southern ended with the Lake Garda. The late harvest enhances in the Pratto wine the aroma of Sauvignon vinified in stainless steel; the softness of the Chardonnay and the fineness of the Lugana, create a harmonious and cohesive character of this wine: concentrate and able to maintains a great balance with the acidity, it has a splendid mineral flavor thanks to the soil composed by limestone clay. The Pratto has a straw yellow color with gold highlights, its perfume stuns for the variety of aromatic range in which tropical scents of lime, lychees, lime and honey stand out on a discreet background of vanilla and roasted notes, and green minerals hints. The Pratto of Ca’ dei Frati has a great impact instilling the desire of tasting: the palate is warm, soft-bodied but intense and persistent, with an attack of rich sweetness, followed by an interlude of balanced acid and savory, a long final, where return the fruity and mineral scents.
