Rum Agricole 'Blanc 55' Neisson

The Rum Agricole "Blanc 55" Neisson is a white rum AOC (Appellation d'origine contrôlée) that has been created for the first time to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the distillery and has been awarded with the gold medal in 2010 in occasion of the Internationaler Spirituosen Wettbewerb (ISW). Like the name itself suggests, the Caribbean Neisson Spirit is strong and mild in this spirit, a unique delicacy and softness. The raw material is pure sugarcane, which is freshly picked and is native of the island of the Antilles Martinique, in particular, coming from crops of The Thieubert au Carbet. The spirit has never suffered any dilution, having been produced directly from the still Savalle column, which has been specially adapted for the production of this rum: the result is a pure and concentrated bouquet of aromas that persists in the palate. The next step is to put the spirit to mature in stainless steel tanks for six months, after which, on the occasion of the celebrations of the distillery, is annually bottled: "Blanc 55" is not aged and is very rare, since it is produced in only 4000 liters. In order to really get into the spirit of this Neisson rum, the maître suggests a tasting in small sips, leaving the rum at a low temperature or by placing it on a bed of crushed ice with lemon zest.
