Rum Zacapa 15 Anni

The Rum by Zacapa is a famous Guatemalan rum, limited production, the result of a special blend of rums aged anejos masterfully. It owes its name to the area of Zacapa, Guatemala common (capital of the department), founded at the time of Spanish colonization. The company is located on the banks of the River Motagua, on the fertile volcanic soil typical of Guatemala. The southern coast of the country is the most suitable for the cultivation of sugar cane, enriched by the tropical sun that shines here all year. For the production of rum Zacapa uses the pure juice of sugar cane, called "Miel Virgen" (virgin honey) from Guatemalans. For the fermentation process, which lasts over 5 days, using a yeast obtained from a strain of properties extracted from the pineapple; this ensures a unique taste and aroma and constant over time. The Zacapa rum aging in the city of Quetzaltenango, in the highlands of Guatemala, at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level where there is the so-called "aging in deep sea." The 15 years is distilled from pure sugar cane juice, aged by the Solera system in oak barrels that have previously hosted Bourbon whiskey, sherry and Pedro Ximenez wines. It is made from a combination of rums aged up to fifteen years. It is intense and character, with hints of almond, pineapple, ripe fruit and honey on the palate opens with pleasant sensations sweet and spicy before closing leaving the mouth clean.
