Scrio Le Macchiole 2010

The ambitious project of winery Le Macchiole, started in 1975 and still under constant development, has become a model and inspiration for towing companies linked to the Bolgheri area and beyond. The decision taken in the early '90s, then in contrast with the times, to focus on the production of varietal wines quickly gave rise to now legendary labels, capable of reconciling critical, innovators and traditionalists. It's also the case of Scrio, an only Syrah wine, which today represents a standard-bearer of this beautiful, historic Tuscan reality. The heady scents of fruit, complemented by spicy, resinous, paving the way for freshness and flavor, making the wine rich and complex and with an important tannic structure. Le Macchiole and Scrio are both the realization of a dream: the one of Eugenio Campolmi, who died prematurely in 2002, but whose desires have been satisfied in full by his wife Cinzia, who now devotes to this project the same passion and dedication of her husband. Today, Cinzia is totally satisfied with the work of the cellar, so in the vineyard she can afford to experiment and innovate. First was banned any use of chemicals and the vineyards are conducted with organic methods. The resulting wines, consequently, are the most natural possible, able to enclose in the bottle the great potential of Tuscany and Bolgheri in particular. The Scrio is an absolute star of the range of labels Le Macchiole: an amazing wine, capable of unleashing a force and an amazing body, accompanied by unique scents.
